Olympic swimmer Martha McCabe worked with the members of the Weyburn Silver Seals Swimming Club on Friday evening at the Weyburn Leisure Centre's outdoor pool. She had the swimmers do various swimming styles and worked on their techniques, using her experience and knowledge as an Olympic athlete. She swam for Canada in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, and now heads up an organization, Head to Head, and helps to train up athletes in the pool. She spoke to the kids about some of her struggles as an Olympian, and some of her triumphs as well. The Silver Seals hosted an all-day provincial swim meet on Saturday, and began to put into practice some of what they learned from McCabe.
