The Weyburn Red Wings was given their first Players of the Week award this season by the SJHL. The 1998-born Eric Soar was named the SJHL Defenceman of the Week on Tuesday. Despite the Wings losing both of their games over the weekend to Estevan, Soar made a huge impact on the team, scoring both of their goals at home on Friday night, and then grabbing an assist and another goal in Saturday's game in Estevan. In November, he was acquired in a trade with the Melville Millionaires, and has since put up six goals with the Wings, with one goal while a Millionaire.
