The Weyburn Red Wings have announced several steps that they will have to take, to ensure that they stay at the capacity of 150 during home games. According to the media release on their website, “we would love to pack Crescent Point Place with all our fans, but unfortunately that is not possible at this time.”
“We had to make changes to ensure our team can continue to operate and play under the guidelines given to us by Sask. Health for the safety of everyone.”
This means that for home games, 80 tickets will be auctioned off in a silent auction online on their Social Media accounts, and rostered players parents and rostered player billet families have the option to purchase a maximum of two tickets, that will be considered non transferrable.
Season ticket holders who have already purchased will receive a full refund. Season ticket holders will also have the option of not requesting a refund and the money spent will be considered a donation to the team. For those season ticket holders who want a refund, please email refund@weyburnredwings.ca stating your Full Name (or Business Name), quantity of tickets, and the mailing address. Refund cheques will be mailed out during the week of November 16.
The Red Wings are also making an effort to make cuts to their operating budget in ways of advertising, expenses and game-day expenses. “We need the support of our fans more than ever during this time and we need the support of our corporate sponsors to get through this difficult year. The board has made decisions that will not satisfy everyone, but we are hoping that everyone respects and understands our position,” stated the media release.
When the Red Wings are granted additional capacity, tickets will be made available to general admission fans on a first-come, first-serve basis. For fans that want to cheer on the Red Wings from home, Hockey TV is also an option with a promo code of SJHLREDWINGS20.
