Red Wings fall in road stretch

The Red Wings were on a four-game road stretch this past week, and the outcomes of all four games were less than ideal. First off, the Red Wings fell 4-1 to the Melfort Mustangs on Tuesday night.

The Red Wings were on a four-game road stretch this past week, and the outcomes of all four games were less than ideal.

First off, the Red Wings fell 4-1 to the Melfort Mustangs on Tuesday night.

Final shots were 25-24 for the Red Wings with Joseph Young in net for the Wings.‬ Liam Rutten scored the only Red Wings goal of the game.

‪The Red Wings continued on the road to face the La Ronge Ice Wolves the following night, but the outcome wasn't any better. The final buzzer sealed the deal on a 6-0 loss.

Final shots were 48-27 for the Ice Wolves with Douglas Wakelyn in net for the Red Wings.

The Wings had a day off before returning to the ice on Friday in Flin Flon to take on the Bombers.

The final score was early similar to that of the game against the Ice Wolves, as the Red Wings took a 7-1 hit. Shayde Peterson had the only Red Wings goal of the game. 

‪Finals shots were 44-24 for the Bombers with Wakelyn in net for the Wings.‬

To end off the road trip, the Wings took the ice with the Nipawin Hawks on Saturday.

After 60 minutes, the final score was far less ugly than the two previous games, but the Red Wings still fell short 3-1.

Jordan Gagnon had the lone goal for the Wings and Young was given the third star of the game.

The Red Wings will have home ice advantage for their rematch against the Hawks on Tuesday, Feb.4, at Crescent Point Place.
