The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings fell 5-2 to the Estevan Bruins Wednesday afternoon in the second game of the two team's home-and-home series.

Previously the Red Wings had fallen 7-1 to the Bruins on Monday night in Weyburn and the Wings were hoping to redeem themselves in Estevan for today's game.

Jordan Gagnon was first to score and put the Red Wings ahead six minutes and 21 seconds into the second period.

Not too shortly later though, the Bruins tied up the game.

In a quick turn of events, Liam Rutten pulled the Wings ahead 2-1, but the Bruins managed to tie things up once again before time ran out in the second.

Things got messy just seconds before the halfway mark in the third period when the Bruins scored a power play goal.

In an attempt to comeback, the Wings pulled Joseph Young from net. However, the Bruins used the empty net opportunity to score two empty netters before the clock ran out.

The Red Wings next game is on home ice on Tuesday, Jan.7 against the Melville Millionaires. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
