The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings had two home games this weekend after having over a week off.

First off the Red Wings hosted the Melfort Mustangs with high hopes to progress their two-game winning streak.

Over 10 minutes into the first period, Braden Birnie scored his sixth of the season on a power play opportunity. Dace Prymak and Connor Karo were credited with the assists.

The third period saw the Mustangs tie up the game early on, but Jaxon Tait later pulled the Wings ahead with his first goal as a Red Wing. Assists were credited to Quinton Hill and Nick Dobson.

Less than a minute after Tait's goal however, the Mustangs tied up the game once again.

At the 18:17 mark tensions were high as Hill had a penalty shot opportunity. The arena was completley silent as Hill made his way to the net, but fans quickly errupted into cheers as he sealed the deal.

Thanks to Hill the Red Wings would take their third win in a row with a victorious 3-2 win over the Mustangs.

The following night the Red Wings hosted the Kindersley Klippers.

After the first period, the Klippers lead 2-0 and that remained the score until Nikolas Sombrowski finally got the Wings on the board early in the third period.

A Klippers power play goal and an empty netter marked the end of the Wings win streak as they took the 4-1 loss.

The Red Wings next game is on Friday, December 20th in Yorkton against the Terriers.
