Red Wings trade captain to North Stars

Today marks the roster deadline in the CJHL and the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings made a huge move ahead of it.

The Red Wings announced today that they have traded captain Ben Hiltz to the Battleford North Stars in exchange for two players and a player development fee.

Born and raised in Weyburn , Hiltz began his SJHL career part way through the 2016/17 season with the Red Wings and has played with them ever since. Every season Hiltz was one of the top goal scorers for the team and was extremley reliable with providing assists. In the 30 games he played with the Wings this season he put up 11 goals and 11 assists.

In exchange for the '99 born forward, the Red Wings received '01 born forward Dace Prymak and '01 born defenseman Jordan Gagon.

Prymak is from Invermere BC and this is his first season in the SJHL. In 21 games with the North Stars, Prymak earned four goals and 11 assists.

Gagnon is from Leduc AB and this is also his first season in the SJHL. In 11 games with the North Stars Gagon has earned one assist.
