The St. Michael School A Girls' Basketball team competed at a tournament in Melville and won first place. The tournament was held on Jan. 10 and 11.
The St. Mikes A girls played the team from Langenburg first and won, 55-27, before advancing to play St. Henry School from Melville, who they defeated 40-22.
In the finals, the St. Mikes girls met the team from Yorkton Sacred Heart and defeated them, 34-25.
The girls next action will be Friday, Jan. 24 and Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Weyburn Comprehensive School's junior girls tournament. The next weekend, Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1, the St. Mikes girls team is co-hosting a tournament with the Weyburn Junior High.
