Two Weyburn athletes compete for Team Canada

Two Weyburn athletes are representing Canada this week at the 2014 UANA Junior Pan American Water Polo Championships. Kelsey Jensen and Taylor Molde have been selected to play for Team Canada at the championships being held in Riverside, California.

Two Weyburn athletes are representing Canada this week at the 2014 UANA Junior Pan American Water Polo Championships.

Kelsey Jensen and Taylor Molde have been selected to play for Team Canada at the championships being held in Riverside, California.

The first games of the tournament were held July 8, with Canada winning the game 24-2. Molde scored two goals in the win, and Kelsey Jensen started the game in goal.

Canada's second game was played July 9 against Brazil with the girls winning 10-6. Jensen split time in net making five saves.

On July 10, Team Canada took on Team USA. The results of that meeting were not known at press time. Puerto Rico will be the girls' last match on Saturday, July 12 prior to semi-finals on Monday, July 14 and the finals on Tuesday, July 15.

The competition includes teams from Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United States.
