Goaltender Jane Kish has had a stellar past couple of weeks playing for the University of Regina Cougars, as shown in the photo above.

The Weyburn native and former Gold Wings goalie was named the Canada West Second Star of the Week after she became the first Cougar goalie to register shutouts in back-to-back days in over 13 years last weekend.

She backstopped Regina to twin 1-0 victories over the Manitoba Bisons. Kish had a 24-save shutout on Jan. 10 and followed that up with a 26-save blanking on Jan. 11 in a game which the Cougars won in overtime.

On Saturday, the Cougars marked a 2-0 victory over the visiting Mount Royal University Cougars at The Co-operators Centre.

Kish made 16 saves to record her sixth shutout of the season, adding to the school-record that she claimed last weekend against UBC for most shutouts in a season. Kish now has 14 career shutouts, an all-time U of R mark.
