Over the weekend the Weyburn Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings played in the annual Swift Current Wildcats Preseason Tournament and were quite successful!
They started the weekend with a 5-1 win over the Pilot Mound Buffalo on Friday. Goal scorers were Paige Cox, Karleigh MacKenzie, Sara Auchstaetter and Hailey Gray (x2).
On Saturday the team faced the Pembina Valley Hawks. The game was a close one with no score after two periods of play. Finally MacKenzie, Reece Pittman and Dakota Bowler each found the back of the net in the third to bring the Gold Wings to a 3-1 victory.
The Gold Wings final game of the tournament was on Sunday against U16 Manitoba team. Unfortunately they were unable to grab a third win and fell 5-0.
