Weyburn gymnasts place at provincials

Nine gymnasts from the Airbourne gymnastics club out of Weyburn headed to Saskatoon over the weekend to compete at the 2019 provincial championships.

Nine gymnasts from the Airbourne gymnastics club out of Weyburn headed to Saskatoon over the weekend to compete at the 2019 provincial championships.

These nine athletes had to attend at least three competitions during the season and make an average score to qualify for the provincial championships. They all worked hard and were up against tough competition.

In the JO 3 (2007) category, Weyburn had one athlete competing. Callie Dammann received a silver medal on the vault posting a 9.4 out of a 10. She placed 11th on bars and beam and seventh on floor, and then was ninth out of 15 in the All Around.

In the JO 3 (2006+) category there were two athletes. Charlize Hallberg placed fourth on vault, eighth on bars, first on beam with a score of 9.275 out of 10, sixth on floor and earned herself a bronze medal in the All Around out of 13 gymnasts.

Halle Robins was 12th on vault, 13th on bars, eighth on beam and floor and 13th in the All Around out of 13.

In the JO 5 category, Weyburn had two athletes competing. Karis Gerle was 11th on Vault, 12th on bars and beam, 13th on floor and in the All Around out of 14 gymnasts. Peyton Lokken was ninth on Vault, 14th on bars, 11th on Beam, 14th on floor and in the All Around out of 14 gymnasts.

In the JO 6 (2007 and younger) there was one athlete. Alexie Daviduk was 22nd on Vault and Bars, 25th on Beam, 24th on floor and in the All Around out of 25 athletes.

Three athletes competed in the JO 6 (2006 and older) category. Shakira Stanford was 18th on Vault, 17th on bars, 14th on Beam and seventh on floor, and was 16th in the All Around out of 23 athletes. Adrienne van Staveren was 21st on Vault, 22nd on Bars, 14th on Beam, 19th on floor and 21st in the All Around out of 23 gymnasts. Zoe Brooks was 20th on Vault, 23rd on bars and beam, 15th on floor and 22nd in the All Around out of 23 gymnasts.
