The Weyburn Bantam Thrashers joined their Highway 39 rivals, the Estevan Voltz, to make a combined team and represent southeast Saskatchewan in provincials this past weekend.

The combined team, Thrashers-Voltz, started the weekend with a loss to the Prince Albert Smoke Jumpers and followed it up with a 10-2 win over Saskatoon Thunder.

Saturday morning they had a 9-5 win over Standing Buffalo and moved on to the semi-final round.

The team faced the Swift Current Rampage on Sunday morning, and although it was a tight game, the Thrashers-Voltz were defeated.

The final game of the weekend was against Saskatoon Beavers and the Thrasher-Voltz pulled off a 9-8 win and a bronze medal to bring home to the respective associations. This is the first medal win for the Estevan and Weyburn Associations.

Some of the Midget players also joined forces with the Estevan Voltz. They started the weekend out strong with a 6-3 win over the Swift Current Rampage. The second game of the day did not go so well with an 11-0 loss against the Regina Attack.

Saturday started off with a loss to the Saskatoon Seals, forcing the midgets into the consolation side of the tournament.
