Weyburn Minor football has entered playoff season, so it’s time to layer up and join the fun as these kids put it all on the line.

The Weyburn Bantam Youngfellows Falcons finished their season in second place and will host Swift Current this Saturday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m. at Darold Kot Field. The Falcons have won and tied Swift Current this year, so it should be a great match up.

The Weyburn PAR Contracting Peewee Ravens finished the season in fourth place, and will travel to Moose Jaw to face the Assiniboia Rockets in the first round.

The last time these two teams met was a back and forth game with lead changes and heart stopping action. Game time is 6:15 p.m. on Thursday night, Oct. 11, at Elks Field in Moose Jaw.

The Weyburn Crescent Point Energy Peewee Eagles finished first in the league and earned a first-round bye in the playoffs. Their next action will be Thursday, Oct. 18, in Weyburn on the Weyburn Minor Football field versus the winner of the Estevan and Moose Jaw Lions match this week.

The Weyburn Comp Eagles, meantime, hosted the Moose Jaw Peacock Tornadoes on Thursday at Darold Kot Field, and were defeated 14-0 on a snowy field. In the photo above, Comp Eagles quarterback Brett Bowler, No. 7, ran to the outside before turning up the field in an attempt to get a first down, in the SHSAA football game. Darold Kot Field had a fresh covering of wet snow, with the yard line markers shoveled off.
