Weyburn Minor Football is holding a WMF Football Day at the Minor Football field on Saturday, Sept. 7 — but there will be no viewing of the Riders-Blue Bombers at the Banjo Bowl.
Minor Football was denied a permit to hold a beer gardens for the day-long event, and have subsequently rescheduled their slate of games for the day.
The U12 Crescent Point Energy Eagles will now host the Estevan Chargers at 11:30 a.m., followed by the U10 Apex Distribution Cardinals Intersquad game at 1:15 p.m.
The U14 Youngfellow Falcons will now host the Estevan Oilers at 2:45 p.m.
The fourth game will feature the U14 PAR Contracting Ravens against the Assiniboia Rockets at 5 p.m.
The day of football will still include bouncy houses, a barbecue, 50/50 draws, a fundraising auction and football toss, with the proceeds from the day to go towards improvements at the field for Weyburn Minor Football.
The organization wants to complete the midfield tower, to install a score clock and to do landscaping along with improvements to the parking lot.
