The Hockey Canada Summer Showcase is a hockey camp in Calgary Alberta from August 2-11 for Women who play in the USports league (the highest Canadian sport University level). The camp includes training and fitness testing evaluations along with on ice evaluations that are made during the camps tournament. The top 20 players from the entire league are invited to the camp to play for the USports All Star Team. The team will then play against a team from France, a team from Russia, a team from Japan and two other Canadian teams.

Weyburn native, Bailee Bourassa, has impressively been invited to the camp and will play on the All Star team!

Bourassa has had a successful and impressive hockey career thus far. She played for the Weyburn Gold Wings Triple A team for four years, scoring the game winning goal in the 2014 Esso Cup. She also took on the roles of assistant captain in her third year and captain in her fourth.

After graduating high school in 2016, Bourassa began her hockey career with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies and was named Rookie of the Year in the 2016/17 season. The 2019/20 season will be her final season as a Husky as she will finish her Nursing degree.

“Obviously, it’s an honour to be selected and to be recognized by Hockey Canada” said Bourassa about being placed on the All Star roster, “I’m nervous, but I plan to try my best so that I can hopefully make an impression.”
