A doubleheader weekend was held on Saturday and Sunday at the Estevan Speedway for the Western Canadian Late Model Nationals, and a number of Weyburn and area racers placed well on both nights.
On the first night, in the IMCA hobby stock feature race, Connor Hansen of Torquay placed first; Adrian Dickie of Stoughton was eighth; and Beth Ann Goudy of Stoughton was 10th.
In the first qualifying heat, Hansen placed first, Mike Hudson of Weyburn was fourth (but didn’t finish the feature race), Dickie was fifth, and Quentin Skjerdal of Weyburn was eighth (but didn’t finish the feature race). In the second heat, Brent Skjerdal of Weyburn was fourth (but didn’t finish the feature race), and Beth Ann Goudy was seventh.
In the IMCA stock car feature race, Gary Goudy Sr. of Stoughton was seventh after finishing third in the second heat, and Gary Goudy Jr. placed ninth, after he placed second in the first heat.
In the IMCA modified feature race, Isaiah Geisel of Torquay was fourth (third in the first heat); Gary Goudy Jr. was sixth (eighth in the second heat); Kelly Bauman of Weyburn was seventh (second in the first heat); Tyler Wagner of Weyburn was 14th (sixth in the second heat) and Stu Bauman of Weyburn was 15th (placing sixth in the first heat).
In the Slingshots feature race, Jagger Ashworth of Weyburn was eighth (fourth in the heat); Jacek Ashworth of Weyburn was ninth (fifth in the heat); and Brogan Wagner of Weyburn was 10th (third in the second heat).
On Sunday night, the IMCA hobby stock feature race saw the following results: first, Conner Hansen of Torquay; seventh, Mike Hudson of Weyburn; eighth, Adrian Dickie of Stoughton; 12th, Beth Ann Goudy of Stoughton; 14th, Quentin Skjerdal of Weyburn; 15th, Brent Skjerdal of Weyburn.
In the heats, Hansen was first, Hudson was sixth, Dickie was seventh, Goudy was eighth, and Quentin Skjerdal and Brent Skjerdal were eighth and ninth respectively in the second heat.
In the IMCA stock car feature race, Gary Goudy Sr. was sixth (fifth in the heat); Rod Pickering of Weyburn was seventh (fourth in the second heat), and Lindsay Wagner of Weyburn was eighth (fourth in first heat).
In the IMCA modified feature race, Isaiah Geisel was fifth; Kelly Bauman was sixth; Tyler Wagner was eighth; Gary Goudy Jr. was 10th, and Stu Bauman was 14th.

The Estevan Speedway had its season opener delayed until June 13 due to COVID-19, and then no races were held until July 18-19. The next race, a regular points night, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15.
