Travis Friedrick and Curtis Regnier represented the Weyburn Comp and Southeast Cornerstone Public School District at regional playoffs held in Kipling on May 7.
They lost their first match to Luther College-Regina, who went on to win gold.
Then they beat Kipling and Sacred Heart Regina to make semi-finals. In the semi-final, they lost to Leboldus-Regina with close scores of 22-20 and 21-18 (Leboldus went on to win silver).
They were able to capture bronze but will not be going to provincials in Humboldt next week.
Next year the Weyburn Comprehensive will host both the regional and provincial high school badminton tournaments.
