Track athletes compete at district meet

A number of local athletes competed at the district track meet, hosted by the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association at the Weyburn Comp on Wednesday.

A number of local athletes competed at the district track meet, hosted by the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association at the Weyburn Comp on Wednesday. Those athletes who took first or second in their respective competition will compete at the SHSAA provincials to be held June 2 and 3 in Saskatoon.
The following results include schools in Weyburn and the immediate area. From the Weyburn Comprehensive School, Tanner Rowland took second in the bantam boys 100 m; Zach Olson placed first in the bantam boys 100 m hurdles and second in triple jump; Mason Buchanan placed second in the bantam boys 400 m; Alex Lund took first in the bantam boys discus and shot put; Braden Hala took second in bantam boys shot put; Soraya Blunt took first in bantam girls 400 m and 80 m hurdles and placed second in 100 m; Kiera Pittman placed first in bantam girls 1,500 m; Denae King took first in bantam girls triple jump and second in shot put; Cooper Kopec took second in the junior boys 100 m hurdles; Owen Hiltz took second in junior boys 3,000 m; Axel Lund took first place in junior boys discus and shot put; William Vilcu took first place in junior boys javelin; Alexis Vandermey took first place in junior girls 1,500 m and took second in the 800 m; Mary Sidloski took first place in junior girls 200 m and 80 m hurdles and placed second in the 3,000 m; Frankie Gawryluik took first in junior girls shot put; Brett Bowler took first place in midget boys 100 m; Ethan Peterson took first in midget boys 200 m; Brett Bowler took first in midget boys 400 m and placed second in triple jump; Arliss Sidloski took second in midget girls 3,000 m; Jacey Rowland took first in midget girls discus and shot put; Chandler Dickie took second in midget girls high jump; Sydney Meyers took second in midget girls shot put. Braeden Junk took first place in senior boys 1,500 m; Cody Vilcu took first place in senior boys 400 m; Paul Dionne took first in senior boys long jump and triple jump and placed second in high jump; Austin Lund took first place in senior boys shot put and discus; Morgann Rogal placed first in senior girls 800 m and 1,500 m; and Carley Evans took first in senior girls 400 m and second in the 200 m.
From Fillmore School, Jay Boll took second in bantam boys javelin, Jacoba Henderson took second in midget girls javelin and Alexis Hanson took second in senior girls 3,000 m. From Gladmar School, Jolynn Hlavka took first in the junior girls discus, Jordan Meyer took second in junior girls discus and shot put, John Hlavka took second in midget boys discus, Collin Holmes took second in midget boys high jump, and Keeanna Tatarliov placed second in senior girls high jump. From Midale School, Ethan Orsted took second in junior boys high jump. From Pangman School, Jimmy Davidson took first in bantam boys 800 m. From Radville School, Kyle Perras took second in junior boys 100 m and 200 m; Rylan Neiszner took second in midget boys 3,000 m; Luke Niemegeers took second in the senior boys 100 m; and Julie Verhelst placed first in senior girls javelin.
From St. Michael School, Rylan Erb took first in bantam boys 100 m; Jamie Labbie placed first in bantam girls 200 m and long jump and placed second in 80 m hurdles; Keely O’Neill took first in bantam girls 3,000 m; and Brynn Romanovitch took second in bantam girls 400 m and triple jump. From Stoughton School, Jenelle Breault took second place in junior girls 400 m, Jackson Goudy took second in midget boys javelin, and Kienan Piper took second in the 800 m while competing as a quad athlete. From Yellow Grass, Kaycee Mullinger took second in junior girls high jump.
