The Weyburn Red Wings have made a gigantic move and have traded former captain Cade Kowalski to the Flin Flon Bombers in exchange for Flin Flon forward Dawson McKenzie and future considerations. Kowalski has mysteriously been missing from the lineup since the Weyburn Red Wings fired previous head coach Wes Rudy, and lost 8-2 to the Estevan Bruins on December 15.
Kowalski was in his second year with the Weyburn Red Wings, and put up 14 goals and 25 assists this season. For the 2019/20 season he has committed to Ferris State University Division I.
McKenzie is a 19 year old who was currently in his second year with the Bombers and has put up 9 goals and 13 assists this season.
